Peter Krueger Summer Internship Program 2013
Through placements in various museum departments, the Peter A. Krueger Summer Internship Program gives individuals the opportunity to explore different facets of museum work. This includes: raising public awareness about the museum, its exhibitions and public programs; working to promote the concept of design and design thinking; learning museum-specific operations systems; assisting with fundraising efforts, and general administrative tasks to support different departmental goals.
Subject to availability, interns may be placed in the following departments:
- Communications/Marketing
- Curatorial (which includes): -Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design -Product Design and Decorative Arts -Textiles -Wall Coverings
- Development
- Education
- Library
- Publications
- Web Communications
- Retail
- Registrar
Eligibility: Internships are open to undergraduate students and graduate students who:
• Are currently enrolled in a degree-granting institution
• Have graduated from a degree-granting institution in the last 6 months
• Have evidence that they have been accepted into a degree-granting graduate program within 6 months.
Application should include:
1) Cover Letter -state the desired museum department(s) (up to 3) placement. -Those interested in the Curatorial department should state specific departments of interest.
2) Internship Application (PDF)
3) Current Resume with:
a. Permanent and current contact information, an email address is mandatory
b. Date of birth
c. Social security number
d. Non-US citizens must state their citizenship and country of permanent residence
4) Official college transcripts with seal/stamp from undergraduate and graduate universities.
5) Two letters of recommendation: at least one must be from a recent or current instructor; the second may be from someone who knows the applicant but is not a relative. Letters should be in a sealed envelope with signature across the seal.

These internships provide a stipend of $2,500 for the 10-week period.
