Ocean Portal, Graphics & Digital Communications Internship
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Ocean Portal is looking for an undergraduate/graduate student interested in developing science communication skills, with an emphasis on visual and web communication. Projects will include: conceptualizing and creating graphics to communicate ocean science and conservation topics, supporting social media campaigns, updating and producing content on the Ocean Portal blog. Student will work with Ocean Portal digital producers to pitch ideas and execute projects through completion.
QUALIFICATIONS: Undergraduate or Graduate level. Must have excellent verbal and visual communication skills and some graphic design experience, as well as an interest in ocean science.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: The intern will learn how to communicating complicated science topics to a broad audience, executing social media campaigns, and increase their knowledge of current ocean science.
TIMETABLE: Indefinite, minimum of 12 weeks (start and end dates are flexible); 8-40 hours per week
