Internship: Building a database of Orchid-Pollinator interactions

 

Description: Interns will help build a spreadsheet of the orchid species of North America and the known flower-visiting animal species. Internship activities include library searches for orchid-pollinator studies, reading scientific literature on pollination biology and ecology, populating an excel spreadsheet, and helping to analyze the data.

Qualifications: Background and interest in biology, botany, or entomology; excellent skills in using Excel; skills in library research; ability to pay great attention to detail.

Learning Objectives: Interns will learn more about the North American orchid flora and the animals that visit their flowers, and they will improve their library research skills.
