Katzenberger Intern Highlights Polish Wayside Shrines

Chela Aufderheide grew up in Trinidad and Tobago and graduated from the College of William & Mary with a B.A. in History and a minor in Russian and Post-Soviet Studies. Her work on French Revolution-era theater is published in the James Blair Historical Review. In her coursework and research in cultural history, as well as her study of French, Spanish, Polish, and Russian, she seeks to explore the diversity of human experience and the ways our worldviews and actions are informed. Through the Katzenberger Art History Internship, Chela worked with Folklife Magazine at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, where she researched and wrote a feature piece on Polish wayside shrines.
