5th Annual Smithsonian Intern and Fellow Here to Career!
Interns, Fellows, and Panelists pose for a group photo outside the Moving Beyond Earth Gallery exhibit.
On Thursday 7/27/17, the Office of Fellowships and Internships (OFI) held its Fifth Annual Smithsonian Intern and Fellow Here to Career event! More than a hundred interns and fellows gathered in the Moving Beyond Earth gallery of the National Air and Space Museum (NASM) to listen to panelists from all across the Smithsonian Institution and the National Gallery of Art (NGA) talk about their own experiences leading up to careers at their own museums. To start off the event, Deputy Director of NASM Chris Browne gave a few introductory remarks and passed the mic over to National Museum of American History (NMAH) Chief of Exhibit Production Omar Wynn. NMAH Curator Mireya Loza, National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) Curator of Diptera Torsten Dikow, NASM Public Affairs Specialist Amy Stamm, and NGA Associate Conservator of Painting Joanna Dunn then talked about their career paths and answered any questions the audience had.
