James Smithson Fellows (left to right): Dr. Karen Burghardt, Dr. Jeremy Feinberg, and Dr. Dara Satterfield

Members of the 2016 James Smithson Fellow cohort participated in an enrichment event at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute (SCBI) in Front Royal, VA on Friday 11/18/2016. SCBI plays a leading role in the Smithsonian’s global efforts to save wildlife species from extinction and train future generations of conservationists. Fellows were lead on a guided tour to see the animals being kept there. Animals seen on the tour included cranes, cheetahs, zebras, gazelles, and horses.

The group included Dr. Karen Burghardt (SERC), Dr. Jeremy Feinberg (NMNH/SCBI), and Dr. Dara Satterfield (NZP/SCBI). This enrichment event kept with the conservation theme of the 2016 James Smithson Fellows.
