University of Kentucky School of Library and Information Science Master’s student Cat Staley, and a few of her classmates, spent their spring break interning at Smithsonian Libraries (SIL) discovering the multiple facets of librarianship. As one of Cat’s fellow interns said, “I valued being exposed to so many different aspects of librarianship in such a short time.”

During Cat’s week interning with SIL, in addition to exploring different branches of the libraries, she conducted her own individual research dealing with social media and outreach programs. Cat was involved with a multitude of social media platforms for SIL and learned about all the care that goes into the process of displaying content online.
