Post Create

Fellows and interns creating their own postcards
On October 6, 2015 seven Smithsonian interns and fellows gathered at the National Postal Museum (NPM) in order to tour the museum and create their own postcards. The fellows and interns used markers, pens, magazine pictures, and old stamps to decorate postcards.
The event was inspired by the Post Secret: The Power of a Postcard exhibit currently hosted by the National Postal Museum. Post Secret was founded by Frank Warren, who encourages people to send him their secrets on a post card. He has created an online blog and community surrounding the postcards he has received. In addition to revealing secrets and thoughts, the postcards displayed in the exhibit demonstrated their senders creativity.
While the postcards created by Smithsonian Fellows and Interns did not necessarily reveal secrets, they did allow interns and fellows to express themselves in original ways.
