Pun and Games with Biological Scientists
Smithsonian Science Education Center (SSEC) Intern Deandre Miles recently helped facilitate a one week biology academy, the Biodiversity SSEAT, which helps teachers, administrators and stakeholders transform science education in a new and exciting way.
Program participants were able to execute engaging tasks within several Smithsonian facilities including the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC). STEM instructors all the way from California taught about the research process through instructional activities and “bad jokes”.
Educators involved in the program enjoyed the program and learned a lot and Deandre did as well. You can read more about Deandre’s experience and SSEC Internships here.
