The Society of American Music is currently accepting applications for the Judith McCulloh Fellowship program.
This opportunity is named after Judith McCulloh, an author who created multiple award winning book series on folk in American culture.
It is aimed at scholars researching music and folklore who are also a member of the Society of American Music and a fellow in residence at the Smithsonian Center of Folklife and Cultural Heritage (CFCH).
The maximum stipend is $1000. The application deadline is 11/1/15 - you can find more information here.
