Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute Fellow Receives Prestigious Endowment

Javier Luque, a predoctoral student currently completing his Ph.D in biological sciences at the University of Alberta, is currently doing a fellowship in Dr. Carlos Jaramillo’s Lab at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI). Javier was recently awarded the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Scholarship by the University of Alberta. The Killam Trusts are considered to be some of Canada’s largest and distinguished endowments. The Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Scholarship is the most prestigious graduate award administered by the University of Alberta.
