Star Power at The Smithsonian

“We found that the magnetic field direction is quite well preserved from large to small scales, implying that self-gravity and cloud turbulence are not able to significantly alter the field direction,” Lead author Hua-bai Li
Smithsonian Science News recently posted an article describing the work of post doctorate fellow Hua-bai Li and co-authors Qizhou Zhang and T.K. Sridharan at the SAO. The research explores the role of magnetic fields in the formation of stars specifically focusing on the Cat’s Paw Nebula.
