Interns, Fellows, and Frog-Killing Fungus

Smithsonian Science recently published an article that describes how Smithsonian interns and fellows are involved with the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute’s (SCBI) work to uncover skin bacteria on Panamanian golden frogs that helped them survive a deadly fungus. Discovery of these skin microbes could help scientists fight infections wiping out frog populations throughout the world.
