Christine Rosenfeld, Digital Services intern at the Smithsonian Institution Archives (SIA) recently wrote on their blog “The Bigger Picture” about her summer project using crowd-sourcing, as she calls them #volunpeers, to help her sift through the correspondences of Spencer Fullerton Baird (Secretary of the Smithsonian, 1878-1887).

Baird corresponded with many history collectors and scientist to find and archive a vast majority of the Smithsonian’s Collection. Check out how she did this huge project, click here.
