Krista Aniel participates in the 2014 American Alliance of Museums Asian Pacific American Professional Network Roundtable on May 20th, 2014 in Seattle Washington.

Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center (APAC) Program Assistant Krista Aniel participated in the 2014 American Alliance of Museums Asian Pacific American Professional Network Roundtable on May 20th, 2014 in Seattle Washington. She met with other representatives such as, Asian Civilizations Museum, Nezu Museum Tokyo, Wing Luke Museum, Newark Museum, Royal British Columbia Museum, Museum of History and Industry, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum. They discussed cultural representation and strengthening the Asian Pacific american leadership and voice in the museum. They also discussed developing authentic interpretation and programming in the museums. While discussing the vitality of recruiting and developing a diverse workforce, she identified the best practices and diversity initiatives that the Smithsonian Institution uses to select interns and fellows.
