Smithsonian Predoctoral Fellow - Dimitrios Latsis

On Wednesday, May 28, 2014 Smithsonian National Museum of American History (NMAH) and Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM) Predoctoral Fellow Dimitrios Latsis presented his research on “Muybridge in Yosemite and San Francisco: Landscape and the Origins of Chronophotography”.

Latsis discussed the unique aspects of Muybridge’s landscape photography that aided his development of chronophotography (sequential photography) as well as some of the specific techniques and objects used to capture moving subjects on film.
