Fine Fellows in Panama
Once every year the STRI community gathers to celebrate what we do best: to engage creative scientific minds on a tropical research platform that connects two continents and divides two oceans. Staff scientists arrived from near and far for the Annual Fellowship Meeting on March 14. This year there were more applicants than ever before.
Following the fellowship meetings, the all-day Fellows and Interns Symposium and BBQ/Poster session featured research by current members of the STRI community. Their research questions reflected Panama’s diversity: Can bats learn to locate resources from their tent mates? Do parasites track lionfish as they invade the Caribbean? How best to teach about restoration of tropical forests?
Next year’s Annual Fellowship Meeting will be on Wednesday, March 26 and the Fellows’ Symposium on Friday, March 28, 2014.
