Elexus Buckner

Summer 2013 Intern, Office of Fellowships and Internships

Elexus Buckner was a Summer Intern whose tenure dates were June 3rd to July 12th.

Elexus is a Sociology major with a concentration in Anthropology, Dance minor, and part of the 2015 class at Christopher Newport University. She plans on going to graduate school for anthropology in the hopes of doing field work in Mali on the Dogon People — specifically on their knowledge of the Dog Constellation.

In her spare time, Elexus enjoys cooking, reading, researching, stretching, and breathing. She has two younger brothers and three younger sisters; they are her motivation to be the leader that they believe her to be.

Elexus is very excited to be spending her summer at the Smithsonian Office of Fellowships and Internships. Other than her clerical work, Elexus explores DC with her fellow interns a few days each week and explores interesting sites.
