Alex is a Summer Intern whose tenure dates are July 15th to August 23rd.

She is a senior (Class of 2014) at Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey. Alex enjoys fencing, a sport that her three sisters are also committed to, for the Peter Westbrook Foundation in New York City. She hopes to study Political Science and International Affairs when she attends college.

Alex applied for an internship with the Smithsonian through SOLAA and was awarded an opportunity with the Office of Fellowships and Internships. Working with OFI is an excellent opportunity because it allows for an eclectic exposure to the Smithsonian, rather than being tied down to any one museum. Alex is also living in DC for the first time, which is another opportunity that her internship with the Smithsonian has allowed for.
